As part of our ongoing commitment to producing the best product possible in conjunction with "Irish Seed Savers" we have planted an orchard of native Irish apple trees . We did extensive bake and taste tests on different varieties before we settled on the ones we felt had the best flavour and pulped down well within the pie. The most popular varieties on the taste test include ‘Cavan Rose’, ‘Cavan Strawberry’ and ‘Lady Sudley’. Some of Eoins college friends came up to help with the planting and were a great source of free labour! We had our first apples this year and look forward to bigger bumper crops in the years to come.
