TESTIMONIALS
.. “great taste is evident in the suberbly light and crumbly carrot muffin, or the decadently rich Beetroot & Chocolate Muffin. It may sound quirkily reiniscent of cranky fad food, but one bite chases those preconceptions right out the door. This is unbridled luxury in a hand folded bun case!”…
Food & Wine Magazine.
.. “as regards their sugar- free Spelt Tea Brack, I struggled hard not to roll my eyes to heaven: everyone knows that wheat-free, dairy-free, sugar-free cakes are a stodgy, disgraceful waste of existence. As I sat down to eat it, my eyes were still rolling in my head as I contemplated how pointless it would all be. I took a bite, and my eyes rolled in my head as I sank into bliss. This was really, really good. . No wonder they won a silver medal at the Irish Blas na hEireann food awards last October, as well as a Great Taste 09 ”… Cheapeats.ie.
.. “The fruit tea brack is outstanding, quite simply, and the breads have a mix of earthiness and delicacy that is really superb, and which many bakers can't quite manage. If they were for sale own here I would buy them all the time.” .. John McKenna, Bridgestone Guides.
The Bridgestone Irish Food Guide 2010
“Siobhan and Paul Lawless’s bakery is one of the very best in Ireland. As bakers they are able to mix an earthiness in their breads with a delicacy in their finishing and execution that makes them utterly lovable. You could pick any of their bread and cake range- all right then, let’s choose the tea brack - and it will simply blow you away with goodness, with that true staff-and-stuff-of-life essentialism. Their secret, we reckon, lies in their inquisitiveness, their need to push their own boundaries in order to see what new ideas emerge. Intellectually fascinating, and yet as fundamental as curiosity and creativity itself, they are a shining star…”
