Like any newborn, the name is carefully chosen. After all, you’ll carry it with you for a long time. With a food company, the same considerations re: personality, how it rolls off the tongue, how it feels; all combine to name the baby.
As time goes by, because with any luck - every night you go to bed smarter than when you woke up – you see where improvements can be made. A business is an evolutionary process, and to stand in the way of evolution is to wither and die. There's been lots of extra work going on behind the scenes here and we're excited to finally share what we've been working on.
It was 9.30 a.m. on the morning of the 29th June 2011. We were on birthday time as it was Pauls 50th birthday only the day before and were in the house having a late and leisurely breakfast with some of the kids. The farmhouse is no more than 20 metres from the bakery.
We heard a whooshing sound, and thought it was a lorry pulling up. So Paul looked out the window to check if he was needed to go help with a delivery. He said ‘the bakery is on fire’, and started to run. I thought he was joking.
We have had a great response to our shout out for helping to choose our new addition to the Cookie Shot family. Lots of variety in there from fruity and nutty, to caramel and spicy, as well as a few strange ones. Re: the gin & tonic suggestion – better drank than eaten I think!
From time to time we like to update all our customers on the things we're doing, new products or offers and news from The Foods of Athenry. To stay in touch, add your email address to our mailing list. We'll never send your private information to anyone else and we'll not email you too often, we promise!
There are few who would deny the presence of a higher power. A God by many different names. Historically it must have been hard for him to get around… but now he has the web… !
As a child I tried to pull off deals with God ‘ just sort such and such …. and I promise ….. ‘.
They mostly didn’t work .
The written word
